DoGav Systems announces the release of the Parallel Redundancy Protocol (PRP) for Freescale's QUICC Engine (QE)-based devices

 

Dogav Systems are proud to announce the release the Parallel Redundancy Protocol (PRP) for Freescale's QUICC Engine (QE)-based devices.

 

Summary of features:

  • The package is self contained and requires no additional H/W.

  • All PRP functionality is handled by a QE-customized µcode.

  • Can be easily updated, further customized and is forward-compatible with future standard’s modification.

  • Supports up to 8000 stations.

  • Ethernet MAC functionality is handled by the device’s eTSEC hardware module.

  • Rates of 10/100/1000 Mbps are all supported.

  • Automatic PRP frame Tx duplication, RCT and PRP-suffix insertion.

  • Rx PRP redundant frame filtering.

  • Allowable skew value (0.1 microsecond resolution) is configurable.

  • Comprehensive global and per station statistics counters.

  • The package is divided into two main modules: a Host Ethernet driver and a µcode module uploaded by the Ethernet driver into the QE IRAM
